Today is the 30th of May 2008 and that of course means that it is the Friday edition of the Morning Cruise where we are focusing on Arts, Culture and Entertainment…so Friday is here, wow I so can’t believe not only is it Friday, but it’s also the end of the month another month has come and gone, so it out with May and in with June oh and pay day for many… So asked this question yesterday and will do the same today…how did you feel this morning when you woke up…were you happy, did you wana crawl back in bed mmm does that sound familiar. So ja if it’s you B-DAY or Anniversary on this cold, frosty and chilly autumns day I hope that you have a wonderful day and that you are spoilt by your family or loved ones coz you deserve it…or if you have just became a grandparent or a parent yourself then congratulations because those are all wonderful successes.

Moving onto today’s show we had all the usuals such as you’re Word of the Day, your SA Q&A, Information Guide, JobShop, and you’re Tip of the Day.

Word of the Day:

CRINGE – bend one’s body in fear or apprehension

Trivial Question:

Q: What is the name of the new Bafana Bafana coach?
A: Joe Santana

Tip of the Day:

Now earlier I spoke about struggling to wake up this morning or all other mornings in this past week. So here are those tips…

1. PREPARE YOUR SLEEP SPACE - Take a good look around at the space in which you are sleeping. Make sure you have a firm, comfortable mattress, good pillows, and clean, comfortable sheets. Use the right amount of blankets--if you have too few blankets, you will be cold at night and will not fall into a deep sleep. Make sure also that noise is not an issue in your sleep space.

2. TURN IT OFF - Stress and an inability to shut down is often a factor in causing sleepless nights. If you are having trouble sleeping, it is particularly important that you turn it off well before bedtime. This means stopping work several hours before bedtime, so that your brain can wind down and begin to shift gears from the pace of working at break-neck speed to relaxation. In addition to turning your brain off for the night, turn other things off as well.

3. GET INTO A SLEEP ROUTINE - Parents know that the best way to get a youngster to go to bed and fall asleep easily at night is to establish a routine. The ritual of taking a warm bath before bed, getting into pajamas, snuggling up together, and reading a bedtime story helps to signal to the child's brain that it is time to go to sleep and prepares the child for sleep.

4. LIMIT YOUR FOOD INTAKE BEFORE BED - As you lie down to sleep, acids in the stomach level out, making heartburn and indigestion more likely to occur. Also, your metabolism increases slightly to digest food, which can also raise your energy level. Stop eating at least three hours before your scheduled bedtime.

5. THINK PLEASANT THOUGHTS - The idea of counting sheep may seem silly and archaic, but it really works. The whole idea behind counting sheep is to get your mind to stop spinning in circles and to focus on something very boring and repetitive, such as picturing sheep gracefully and peacefully jumping over a fence, one after another..

Quote of the Day:

Henry David - It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see

It’s time for me to love and leave you. You must have oh so super Friday and a fabulous weekend. Let’s chat again tomorrow…Much Love…Peace.
