#####COMMUNITY BUZZ#####

Good Day! How are you doing? I hope that you are absolutely fabulous on this oh so good Thursday. I hope and trust that you are fabulous and fantastic on this Thursday morning…I don’t know about you not sure because of the new month because people always have difference of opinion when it comes to this, but I have to say that this week went so fast not sure if it’s only me… Just a reminder that today in fact is the 4th of September 2008… So you know how they say that within the first 30 seconds that we met someone we’ve already formed an idea or perception of that person in our heads…and only really after you talk to that person or get to know them a little better do we find out but hey this person is actually not to bad but it could also be different maybe that person is not as nice or genuine as they portray…but this next thing you simply must try…myself and a very good friend did it this weekend and it is extremely funny…

Moving onto today’s show we had all the usuals such as you’re Word of the Day, your SA Q&A, you’re Tip of the Day, Job Shop and Information Guide.

We also had interview with:

· Louie De Waal from the Bicycle Empowerment Network and he spoke to us about the organisation and how it promotes the use of bicycles in our everyday life sounds pretty cool because with the increase in petrol prices and now the decrease people can make use of good old fashion bicycles.

· We also spoke to Gary Winder from the Field Worker Project Literacy Cape Town and he spoke to us about their free English and Maths classes for beginners.

Tip of the Day:

I’ve got your tips on ways to drink more water everyday… There are a variety of reasons to drink plenty of water each day. Adequate water intake prevents dehydration, cleans out the body, and promotes healing processes. Substituting water for beverages high in calories can also help control weight. Follow the steps below to make sure you're getting enough of this most basic necessity…

1. Determine how much water you need. You've probably heard the "8 by 8" rule - drink eight glasses of water per day but the amount of water a person needs varies depending on his or her weight and activity level. Another way to determine your specific recommended water intake is to divide your weight by two. The resulting number is the number of ounces of water you need each day.

2. Measure your daily intake of water. Do this for a few days. If you find that you're drinking less than the recommended quantity.

3. Carry water with you everywhere you go in a bottle or other container. Note here that recent research continuously shows plastic bottles leach toxic chemicals into water. It is highly recommended that one use glass containers such as an old Pierre bottle. Begin keeping all your glass bottles, and soon you'll find the ideal glass bottle for you.

4. Keep a glass or cup of water next to you whenever you'll be sitting down for a long time, such as when you're at your desk at work. Drink from it regularly as you're working.

5. Add lemons or limes to your water. This makes it taste better and makes you want to drink more of it. Be careful not to make it too sour, just a splash of sourness should do the trick. Cucumber slices can also be added to a glass of water.

6. Eat water rich foods. Like watermelon, which is 92 % water by weight.

7. Keep water cold if it tastes better for you. Keep a pitcher of water in the refrigerator at home. Add ice or freeze water in a sports bottle before taking it with you, it will eventually melt and stay cold. However, too cold water will cost your body energy to heat it to body temperature.

8. Buy bottled water and drink it. When you're done with the bottle don't throw it away. Refill it with water at work or at home. When doing this, you trick your mind slightly into thinking that you're still drinking the expensive bottle of water you just bought.
