By Denisia

Hello hello, how we doing today? I hope you doing fantastic if you not you best start changing that mood it's not worth it!! When you waste time on what you don't have you waste time on what you do have.... Now talking about wasting, today I spoke about saving. That topic came up after I realised that pay day is around the corner. Excitement excitment!! I’m almost certain a couple of hundreds are just as excited.. just counting down the days before the 25th. But tell me why is it that we get so over-joyed about pay day only to find ourselves feeling like the rainy weather only two weeks after pay day because we over treat ourselves ………and yes …..some over do it. Treating yourself is not a problem of .. but you not a millionare I suggest you consider the secret in life called SAVING.

We got to learn to save we can’t always be spontanous or adventurous..living on the edge as some might put it…. at the end of the day when the money isn’t there we walk around with our lips half sweeping the floor blaming the government because WE CAN’T SAVE.

Before I go on and on, I'll save room for what the Morning Cruise had going on on the Wonderful Wednesday Edition. We had the Word of the Day, S.A Trivia, Tips, interesting interviews as well as a documentary and not forgetting the Quote Of The Day.

WORD OF THE DAY

euphonious \yoo-FOH-nee-uhs\ - Pleasing or sweet in sound; smooth-sounding.

S.A TRIVIA QUESTION

Q. What region in the Western Cape is known for its abundance of blue skies, white sand beaches, rolling oceans, dramatic mountain scenery, indigenous fynbos and ostrich antics

A. The Garden Route and Klein Karoo

TIPS OF THE DAY

How To Be A Gentlemen

1. Be polite to everyone. Always be aware of how you can help people. Offer to help an old or pregnant person get their grocery bags to the car. Even if someone is being a rude, be polite and respectful.

2. Don't swear. Ever. Growl wordlessly or calm yourself down.

3. Give girls a little extra respect. This doesn’t mean put every girl on a pedestal but rather do them little favors, like giving up your seat on the bus even though they're not carrying anything heavy.

4. Don't talk about yourself much.Get a basic idea of what's going on in music, sports, and politics.

5. Guys must realise how threatening the world is for girls: they're automatically targets at night or in bad neighborhoods men are more safer in that regard. So walk her to her door if at all possible it doesn't matter how strong she actually is.

6. If you have a girlfriend, remember to keep doing nice things for her. If she's carrying something, pick it up when she puts it down. Show up with a card or a flower. Expensive and showy doesn't matter, it's the effort. In fact, a rose and a heartfelt kiss will keep any girl happy for days.

7. There are some things you shouldn't talk to girls about. These include how hot other girls are, or anything at all of that nature. If she's not in to sports or video games, you can say a few things but then move on to something she's in to.It's fine to talk about that stuff with your guy friends, but a gentleman doesn't do that.

8. A true gentleman maintains all of these steps even when around his guy friends.

We also featured:

Just after the 10:30 headlines we played a documentary produced by Rupert Cook about Aids in Somaliland...Great stuff

Then we were joined by Dr Retha Scheepers from Stellenbosch University who has joined forces with Syracuse University in New York to put together a hands on entrepreneurial programme/initiative where the students go out using the knowledge they have to help empower previously disadvantaged entrepreneurs. If you want to know more about this initiative, check out their website at www.sun/eesa.ac.za.

Lastly we interviewed Suzette Farmer from "knit a jersey for an orphan" project at the Simon's Town Museum. This project is to create awareness around HIV/AIDS which runs until November. On the 1st December 2008, World Aids Day they'll be doing the handing over of the jerseys to an HIV/AIDS charity and others.
