Good Day! How are you doing? I hope that you had an absolutely fabulous on this oh so good Thursday. Today is the 3rd of July 2008 and that of course means that it is the Thursday edition of the Morning Cruise…so Thursday is here for me I think so far the week has gone super fast…some might disagree talking about the day’s of the week what your worst day of the week and why mmm will tell you about my worst day of the week for me I would have to say that mmm Tuesday because for some reason I find it very difficult to stand up... Monday’s are a little easier because I had some weekend rest, but however I really want to know yours tho… I’ll be easing you through until 12 on this July 3rd edition of MC…

Moving onto today’s show we had all the usuals such as you’re Word of the Day, your SA Q&A, and you’re Tip of the Day.

We also had interview with:

Westin Barwise who’ll be chatting to us about the free workshops for matriculants being held at the two ocean’s aquarium.

Lastly we spoke to Carly Tanner from the Mamelani Project.

Word of the Day:

SOMNOLENT - Sleepy; drowsy; inclined to sleep

Trivial Question:

Q: In what year did South Africa have it’s first democratic election? A – 1990, B – 1994 or C - 1976
A: B – 1994

Tip of the Day:

So I’ve got your tips and I’m actually exited about today’s tips not sure why, but I am…we looking at ways to control your emotions this can be difficult for some and really easy for others at the same time… So next time you find yourself in a situation think of the next 5 tips to over come and control those emotions…

1. CHANGE HOW YOU REACT TO A FEELING - Just because you have reacted in a certain way does not mean you must continue to do so.You can actually change your reaction any time you choose. How we react is based on how we perceive the occurrence.

2. NOTICE, ASSESS AND CHANGE - The first thing is to just notice how you are reacting to a given feeling. You can start by thinking about your reaction after the fact, then gradually as you become more aware of this, you will notice while you are reacting. After awhile, as you become more aware, you will find that you can easily notice your reactions right as they are coming up.

3. VALUES AND DESIRED LIFE - Look at your personal values when deciding how you would rather react. Ask yourself what reaction would better serve the values you want to live by? How would you rather behave in certain situations?

4. THIS IS CHANGE - You can eliminate the experience and results of your anger if you choose not to allow anger to be a part of your reaction in a given situation.

5. LEARN RATHER THAN DEFEND - Instead of going into a defensive mode and trying to protect or force your views, learn from the situation. Ask yourself what is really going on with that upset employee or co-worker.

Quote of the Day:

Thomas Jefferson - Nothing gives one person so much advantage over another as to remain always cool and unruffled under all circumstances

It’s time for me to love and leave you. You must have oh so super Thursday. Let’s chat again tomorrow…Much Love…Peace.
