%%%THE GENDER HUB%%%

Good Day! How are you doing? I hope that you are absolutely fabulous on this oh so good Wednesday. Now perhaps you didn’t know or maybe you already new, but for those who didn’t today of course is the 5th of November 2008 and If it is your birthday today then happy birthday then happy B-DAY (Talk)…oh before I forget happy Guy Fawkes Day too…Well regard less if its Guy Fawkes day or not I do hope that you are feeling fantastic and oh so wonderful on this Wednesday morning… So we have all been teased about something in our life…you can’t deny it weather it’s the way we talk, the way you walk maybe it’s your ears or your nose or even the way you dance spoke about about being teased… There are always people who get their kicks by tormenting someone else. They enjoy insulting or teasing others, because they themselves are insecure. Well here’s how to react from now onwards…

When someone insults you, or remarks unfavorably about your looks or your clothes, just smile, and nicely say to the person, "You really think so?, I have been told my looks are very nice, but maybe I will have to change my hair style (or whatever they had made fun of)." Walk away.

Just turn around and walk away

Try not to show your feelings if you are insulted or teased.

Word of the Day:

Defile - to make filthy or dirty; pollute

Trivial Question:

Q: Name the annual film festival underway in Cape Town?
A: Horror Film Festival

Did You Knows:

A kiss for one minute can burn 26 calories…Here’s another interesting fact… The dot over the letter 'i' is called a tittle

We had interviews with:

Sarah Gold Steyn and she spoke to us here on MC about the killing the myths around lesbian couples having difficulty bring up children and adopting children.

We also spoke to Tanya Suskind from The Whole Story and she’ll be joining me on the line to speak about the importance of having a good appearance.

We wrapped up our series of the Gender Hub with with Peter Geddes from the Men’s Trust organization.

Tip of the Day:

None the less its time for your Tip of the Day and we talking about to make people simply love you… Do you want to be one of those happy, popular people who everyone seems to love? Now you can!

1. Change your attitude. If you want to be loved, love everyone! Be nice, gentle and friendly toward everyone, even if they are not nice back. No one can ever find fault with you if you are the kindest person ever.

2. Speak up! People admire those with opinions more than those who never have their say and let everyone else rule their lives.

3. Smile, and look approachable.

4. Don't ignore people or talk about them behind their backs.

5. Be helpful! Lend people things, help them with homework or chores, offer to help with their shopping... be there and be willing to help.

6. Have time to listen. The greatest thing you can have for everyone is time! Listen to peoples problems, and do your best to give solid, good advice.

7. Try to be funny. People ALWAYS love someone that can make them laugh. If you need help with this see How to be Funny However, know when NOT to be funny, like when a person needs consolation. In that case, offer advice.

8. Don't shout at people, or say they are stupid if they don't understand something straight away.

9. Be patient with everyone.

10. Treat everyone as you would like to be treated.

W.C. Fields – If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Then quit. There's no use being a damn fool about it
