BEST OF THE BEST
by Denisia Adams

Hi and good day to you. I hope you had a splendid weekend as did I not forgetting it was registration week. Did you register?

Anyway back to the show today on the Morning Cruise aka MC it was Best of the Best a show we highlight all the best features of last week that occur on the show. It was also my takeover of the show and don't get me wrong I didn't throw the previous presenting off the she has moved out to great things........ None the less the show still went on and I brought you the best word of the day of last week, the best tips of last week, best S.A trivia, as well as the best quote of the week. We also discussed how commitment problems, how hard it really is. This came up after I realised that Mondays are like reflect days, it's when most woman (maybe man) decide they want to diet or people reflect on how they shouldn't drink so much any more, stop smoking etc. The reality is most of us don't know how to stick to goals made, but as always the MOrning CRuise tried to save the day by providing ways in which to commit to your goals.

WORD OF THE DAY(best word of last week)

ENNUI (on-wee) - boredom; listlessness and dissatisfaction resulting from lack of interest.

S.A TRIVIA QUESTION (best s.a trivia question of last week)

Q. What is traditional South African meat balls better know as? A – Daaltjies, B - Frikkadel or C – Mince Balls.

A. B - Frikkadel

.....here's some info
A meatball or is generally a mass of ground meat that is typically rolled meat composed of rolled ground beef and other ingredients, such as bread or breadcrumbs, minced onion, various spices, and possibly eggs, cooked by frying, baking, steaming, or braising in sauce.Traditional South African meat balls are called Frikkadels. TIPS
how to make people love you (best word of last week)

1) Change your attitude. If you want to be loved, love everyone! Be nice, gentle and friendly toward everyone, even if they are not nice back. No one can ever find fault with you if you are the kindest person ever.

2. Speak up! People admire those with opinions more than those who never have their say and let everyone else rule their lives.

3. Smile, and look approachable

4. Don't ignore people or talk about them behind their backs.

5. Be helpful! Lend people things, help them with homework or chores, offer to help with their shopping... be there and be willing to help.

6. Have time to listen. The greatest thing you can have for everyone is time! Listen to peoples problems, and do your best to give solid, good advice.

7. Try to be funny. People ALWAYS love someone that can make them laugh. If you need help with this see How to be Funny However, know when NOT to be funny, like when a person needs consolation. In that case, offer advice.

8. Don't shout at people, or say they are stupid if they don't understand something straight away.

9. Be patient with everyone.

10.Treat everyone as you would like to be treated.

..........Now i mentioned that on the show we disussed problems with commiting to goals, we want to stop smoking or start exercising but never seem to know to how to stick with it……Here is a possible solutions:

1) Make sure the goals you set are important to you. This is tricky as it is easy to fool yourself into thinking that you want one particular thing when in reality you want something else. Take your time in figuring out what it is that your heart wants to achieve. Know your reason behind a specific goal. How will achieving the goal benefit you? How will you feel after accomplishing your goal?

It is best to write it down in a journal and keep it close by so that you can easily go back and read it as often as you need to. Writing it and reading your goals and reasons behind them over and over again will help you commit to the goal.

Don't forget to ask yourself if the benefits you will get outweigh any effort that you will go through to achieve the goal. If you believe that the benefits outweigh the sacrifices, then, go for it - work on achieving your goal.

2) Make sure to consider the "what if's". Think about the consequences if you do not continue on with achieving your goal. If the consequences are not all that grave, then perhaps you need to reconsider your goals. Make your goals top priority wherein if you don't work on achieving them, you'll be faced with an unfavorable consequence. Be creative. You can promise to give something up if you do not achieve your goal. This way, you will try your best to ensure that your goal gets accomplished.

3) Renew your commitment each day. When your goal is new and your motivation is high, it is so easy to be committed. However, you need to stay committed until your goal is achieved. Make a conscious effort to remember your goal and its importance to you each day when you wake up. That is why it helps to write your goals down in a journal so you can read it over and over and remember its importance. Make a vow to work on your goal each day until it is achieved.
