### THE GENDER HUB###

Good Day! How are you doing? I hope that you are absolutely fabulous on this oh so good Wednesday. Now perhaps you didn’t know or maybe you already new, but for those who didn’t today of course is the 29th of October 2008 now yesterday was the 302nd day of the year this morning it’s the 303rd day of the year…I do hope that you are feeling fantastic and oh so wonderful on this Wednesday morning…If it is your birthday today then happy birthday… So this next question I pose to both the ladies and the gents listening to the show…Can you wake up without an alarm clock sounds impossible well its not…Now you might be thinking why am I even asking such a question…Now maybe you didn’t know but human beings have survived for most of our history without an arlam…Waking up naturally is much easier on you, as your body will slowly adjust from deep sleep to a calm awakening. Here's how to separate yourself from the alarm clock without quitting your job or dropping out of school…

1. Determine what time you need to wake up on most days. Make this your sleep goal.
2. Use your alarm clock to wake up at approximately that same time each morning.
3. Figure out how much sleep you really need.
4. Go to bed at approximately the same time every night. Wean yourself off the alarm clock.

Word of the Day:

JEJUNE – Juvenile, childish or immature

Trivial Question:

Q: Name the third - oldest Western Cape Town?
A: Paarl

Did You Knows:

A person uses approximately fifty-seven sheets of toilet paper each
day…Here’s another interesting fact…A woman's heart beats faster than a man's

We had interviews with:

We also spoke to Freddie from Sonke Gender Justice Network and he spoke to us about using the World Cup to advance gender equality.

We wrapped up our series of the Gender Hub and featured a documentary on Frene Ginwala speaker of the South African National Assembly.
Tip of the Day:

None the less its time for your Tip of the Day and we talking about ways to stop people from judging you by the way you dress… Do you not have the latest fashions? Do people not understand you for who you are because of the way you dress?

1. Smile. By smiling you're showing everyone 'I'm happy. And I think I look good. I don't care what you think of me. Nothing can bring me down.

2. Stand up straight. If you slouch, people may get the vibe that you're trying to hide yourself. If they think your trying to hide yourself, they might try to figure out why and make things worse for you.

3. Act confident. Don't just act like you don't care. Just don't. Who cares what others say or think of you? They might be jealous, but most likely, they're just bored with themselves. If they have nothing better to talk about than what you're wearing, maybe they better check their priorities.

4. Don't dumb yourself down. If you dumb yourself down people will have no problem making fun of that stupid person who doesn't dress nice. Have something smart to say.

5. Stick up for yourself. Don't be mean, just defend yourself.

6. Kill them with kindness. Go up to them everyday and say one nice thing to them. If they harass you more, keep doing it. If they just stand there continue doing it. People have a hard time handling nice people.
Quote of the Day:

Earl of Beaconsfield - The secret of success in life is for a man to be ready for his opportunity when it comes

It’s time for me to love and leave you. You must have oh so super Wednesday. Let’s chat again tomorrow…Much Love…Peace.
