%%%COMMUNITY BUZZ%%%

Good Day! How are you doing? I hope that you are absolutely fabulous on this oh so good Thursday. I don’t know, but this morning something rather odd happened to me now it’s not that odd because it’s not like it hasn’t happened before you know when you make yourself some coffee then use the sugar and put it in the fridge it’s the worst I tell you… Now have you ever gone to a friend or even family members house…they offer you something to eat and you realize it not something that you like eating at all… Nobody likes every food in the world, and yet, over the course of a lifetime, you may find yourself in that certain social situation where eating something you find disgusting is necessary. Now sometimes you might think fear factor those people eat some terrible things…Here is how to eat those foods without losing your composure, or worse, gagging…

Take a sip of some thing to drink before putting the food in your mouth, then immediately take another sip to help the swallowing process along.

Be aware that facial expressions will need attention, lest they give your reaction to the food away and offend the host.

Lie about a food allergy only if the situation is serious enough to warrant it.

Tell your host if you've never tried something.

Then we wrapped up our series of Community Buzz interview with Al – Ameen Kafaar from the department of Transport and Public Works and they’ll be chatting to us about the Bicycle Fun Ride.

Tip of the Day:

I’ve got your tips on ways to get your family to stop criticizing you… You just want to be yourself. You want your family to back off. This guide should help you out.

1. Think. What are they criticizing you for? Write down all the reasons. Believe it or not, you may be the one at fault.

2. Review your list. Is there anything that you could improve yourself on? If you try, there may be a considerable smaller amount of critique and even some constructive information on how to change for the better.

3. Gather your family for a meeting. This may sound cheesy, but it is important. Firmly tell them how you feel. Let them know that you want them to stop complaining, and that you think you are trying your hardest.

4. Whenever a family member must make a comment, if you think there is some shred of reason, calmly ask that person how they would improve if they were you.

5. Be confident in what you do. Keep your head high, and speak surely. This will give your family the knowledge that you know what you are doing, and that you are responsible for your actions and mistakes.

6. Do not lose control of your anger. Doing this will only make your situation worse. Instead, if a family member is taunting you to no avail, tell them to stop. Ask them to think about how hard you are trying. Do not be a smart mouth, however.

7. Ask your family members for advice. This will make them feel important, solve any problem you have, make everyone happy, and create a stronger bond.

8. Be open. If you shut yourself into your room all the time, this will make your parents concerned, thus causing them to ask more questions, criticize you more, and put both sides in an awkward relationship.
