ART – C FRIDAY
By Denisia Adams
Hi and good fantabulous day to you. Geez it’s hot hot hot today in Cape Town, you know the kind of heat that makes you allergic you food and just about everything.

Today on the Morning Cruise was ART – C FRIDAY where we kept it all about entertainment arts and culture.

WORD(s) OF THE DAY
BODACIOUS:
excellent, admirable or attractive, remarkable, gutsy

S.A TRIVIA QUESTION
The production and or movie Sarafina commemorated what important day in South Africa?

A – Youth Day, Soweto Uprising B – Heritage day
C – Human Rights Day

Answer: A – Youth Day, Soweto uprising

The release of Sarafina! commemorates the watershed event of 16 June 1976 in our history and honours all the heroes and victims of the struggle, and celebrates their courage. The most important reason for the release of the Directors’ Cut of Sarafina! is to ensure that the youth of today are able to experience, through the film, the hardship and subjugation that South Africans endured during the apartheid years. The film will sensitize the youth to the struggle and give them an opportunity to appreciate our freedom and how it was achieved, especially the impact of 16 June 1976 on the path to freedom and democracy.
Sarafina! was the first South African film to be made in the country after the unbanning of the African National Congress and the release of Nelson Mandela from 27 years in prison.

TIP OF THE DAY
How to Find Free Time
Step1
Prioritize. At the beginning of every day, make a list of tasks you must complete. Schedule free time for yourself and take it.

Step2
Get organized. Develop a system that works for you and stick to it.

Step3
Keep a journal to record how you spend every hour of the day. Note where your time is being spent and consider how you can be more efficient.

Step4
Dovetail errands so that you can do them all in one trip.

Step5
Value your time. Hire a housekeeper and gardener if you can afford it. Send clothes that need to be ironed to a laundry service. Buy quality foods that take minimal time to prepare.
Step6
Make technology your friend. Learn to use cellular phones, e-mail and personal organizers efficiently. It will save you time down the road.

Step7
Keep a positive attitude, even during challenging times. Moping and procrastination consume time and energy.

Step8
Reward yourself. Stick to your plans to exercise daily or read your favorite novel. Plan a trip "away from it all" where you can relax and pamper yourself.

WE ALSO FEATURED:
An interview with Jonathan Rubain and his drummer Anton. Jonathan is one of the emerging stars of Cape Town. He has the fingers of Mac McKenzie and the privilege of growing up in an era of opportunity. He's a phenomenal bass player and a great composer.

We then spoke to artist Veronica Wilkinson who joined us to speak about her colourful (in every way) exhibition taking place at Cape Town’s Castle called, Paper Collages. The exhibition is about her travels through the East exploring Buddhism and more importantly the significance of the art of paper making. Check out the exhibition at the Castle from the 8th April to the 24th.

Lastly we spoke to Swiss – Kazakh singer and improviser Saadet Türkör. She joined us to speak about her concert taking place at the artscape arena on the 7th April at 7.30pm called Song Dreaming in South Africa where she’ll be collaborating with local jazz musicians the world-acclaimed drummer, Louis Moholo - Moholo, Kyle Shepherd (piano) and Shane Cooper (double bass).
