Rlabs Non-profit organisation Interview

 

The Morning Cruise


 The morning cruise was joined by the energetic Dailen from Rlabs. He came in to explain more about their non-profit organisation which focuses on film and media.

 


Rlabs is a south African award-winning non-profit company that was established in 2009 in Bridgetown, Cape Town.The organisation upskills the youth and gets them ready for the job market. It is currently based in Michell’s Plain. They have expanded the Rlabs model to 23 countries across 5 continents, impacting more than 20 million people through their work.

 



The main aim of the organisation is to create environments and systems where people are impacted, empowered, and ultimately transformed through; hope, innovation, technology, training and economic opportunities. To date, more 200 000 people have accessed Rlabs skills, training and economics empowerment programmes.




Dailen said that it was there are many opportunities out there and as young people, it can make us picky about what we want to do but we also need to take a chance and throw ourselves towards situation that comes our way.
