GENDER HUB (with a twist)
By Denisia Adams

Hello and good day to you hope you feeling healthy because I have to admit the sick bug GOT ME!!! I’m feeling now though just a little dry in the nasal area.
But you probably were wondering why today was Gender hub with a twist. At 11am we crossed over to the live State Of The Nation, where the fourth democratic elected president for the first time addressed South Africa.

WORD(s) OF THE DAY
autonomous
1. Not controlled by others or by outside forces; independent:
2. Independent in mind or judgment; self-directed.

S.A TRIVIA QUESTION
Who is the oldest professional South African soccer team?
A – Hellenic FC B- Kaizer Chiefs C – Blue Bulls

Answer: A – Hellenic FC

DID YOU KNOW
97-year-old Millvina Dean, who was the the youngest passenger on the RMS Titanic and the last survivor of the 1912 sinking, passed away in her sleep on Sunday. She was just nine weeks old when her family boarded the ill-fated ocean liner. ALSO DID YOU KNOW Golf the only sport played on the moon - on 6 February 1971 Alan Shepard hit a golf ball.

TIP OF THE DAY
How to Effectively Increase Your Self Esteem
Our self esteem is like a roller coaster. Sometimes, we feel great about ourselves; other times, not so much. How can we look in the mirror and like what we see?

FORGIVE YOURSELF
You don't do yourself, or anyone else for that matter, any favours by feeling guilty. Learn from your mistakes, absolutely. Make amends, if necessary. But at all costs remove the millstone from your conscience and move on with your life with the determination that you will do better.

EARN YOUR SELF-ESTEEM
Self-esteem can't be bought or borrowed, only earned. That means self-esteem comes from taking on a challenge. That's why, for example, the martial arts are so well-known for instilling confidence; they teach otherwise regular people how to control their bodies under combat stress. Earn your self-esteem by growing, in any way possible, as a human being. This may include charity or volunteer work or delving into a new hobby.

A HEALTHY BODY IS A HEALTHY MIND
It's been said over and over, but exercise is the cornerstone to good health, physical and otherwise. Eat right, avoid toxins in your environment and make sure you sweat! The more, the better! And hopefully with an activity that you enjoy, such as biking, running, walking, hiking...the list goes on!

TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF
Like Step Three, do what you need to feel good. That means regular doctors' and dental appointments; getting enough sleep; listening to soothing music; organizing your time efficiently; and generally making the best of any given situation.

BE THE PERSON YOU WANT TO BE
We always seem to have an image in our heads of the person we'd like to be, but never really follow through. What are you waiting for?

AVOID NEGATIVE PEOPLE
Mind the company you keep. Negativity is like a virus; it spreads.

FORGIVE OTHERS
Release the negative emotions that only keep you down. Revenge, anger and jealousy, as hard as they are to let go of, only hold you back.

SAY "NO" MORE OFTEN
Say no to things you can't or don't want to do. To paraphrase Bruce Lee, when someone wastes my time, they not only waste it, they're stealing it. Don't allow your time to be stolen by well-meaning people. People will like you for you; not for what you can do for them.

THIS IS YOUR LIFE
Not your parent's. Not your children's. Not your spouse's. Not society's. But YOURS. Follow, as they say, your bliss. There is no one-size-fits-all life. No one will agree with how you live your life 100%, so don't worry about their approval. If you live your live to please others, you will be like a dog forever chasing its tail.

QUOTE OF THE DAY
~Lucille Ball~

In life, all good things come hard, but wisdom is the hardest to come by.
