This Friday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Sinethemba Bawuti to the studio. As a key figure at the College of Magic, Sinethemba plays an integral role in helping select the talented young magicians who will eventually become professionals
The Magicana Junior Magic Championships, taking place on September 28 at the Homecoming Centre in District Six, is the highlight of the year for these young magicians. The event is divided into two main competitions. The first is the Close-up Magic Contest, where participants will showcase their ability to transform everyday objects into moments of pure wonder, right in front of an audience. This intimate category demands precision, leaving no room for error, as every move is closely observed by the spectators.
Later in the evening, the Stage Magic Contest will take place, where larger-than-life illusions, levitation acts, and disappearing tricks will capture the imagination of the audience. This competition not only tests the technical skills of the performers but also emphasizes the theatrics, the music and costumes that make the magic really come to life.
As Sinethemba explained, this competition is the culmination of months of preparation, rehearsals, and preliminary contests, where each contestant has honed their skills. With his guidance and the support of the College of Magic, these young magicians are ready to put on a spectacular show, leaving the audience spellbound with their creativity and mastery of the magical arts.
Tickets for this magical event are available through Quicket, and it promises to be a day filled with awe, wonder, and unforgettable performances.
