Mamelani Project

2/19/24 Morning Cruise Interview with Lewis and Claire from Mamelani

On Monday, February 19th, 2024, we sat down with Lewis Kalombo and Clairishia Jacobs from the ProSEED branch of the Mamelani Project to talk about the importance of youth empowerment.  The Mamelani Project helps youth by providing support with food vouchers, mentorship, and much more.

We talked about Lewis' personal story of going from being helped by the Mamelani Project to becoming an intern, and now working in a full-time position at the organization.  These two impressive individuals have been involved in the Mamelani Project for a long time, and have seen it go through many different phases.  During COVID-19, the project adapted to do more community support virtually.  The Mamelani Project turned 20 years old last year, and looking ahead they want to continue to get more people involved in their projects.

To learn more about how to get involved you can look at their website here: https://mamelani.org.za.  Their Instagram is @mamelani_, and you can contact them at contact@mamelani.org.za
