THE INSPIRING MUSIC JOURNEY OF CRAIG LUCAS

Craig Lucas is South Africans second season of The Voice SA in 2017 inspired by many people to break out of his comfort zones and risk pursing music as a career.

Up until a year ago he was just an ordinary person, studying and working until he entered The Voice SA. A friend of Craig's was in season one and if you are part of the competition you can suggest people to enter. H e got to skip the line process and he sang into a little camera which was recorded for him, having no stress of normal auditions. He went to the auditions with no intentions of getting far and he ended up winning. Craig is now a full time musician and gets to do what his been wanting to do for so long.

Locally, he stumbled into the music industry at the right moment, as everyone in South Africa is doing great. Jimmy Nevis has been such a great inspiration to Craig for a long time. Craig got to meet him in The Voice and they sang together. He also mentions that Shekhinah and Tim ODV is great. He performed in Town yesterday when the lights when on, which to his experience was the best. He goes every year, when the lights goes on and always said that he wants to perform on that stage.

'Smother' was written when he finished the album in the space of two months. A lot of the songs on the album was written prior to the voice but  'Smother' was a new single. He spent 8 hours everyday, Monday to Friday. He explains he sound as alternative, soulful and pop. A family member of Craig owned a pub and that's where is use to go whenever he wanted to sing. He also sang at every family event.
