Today on the morning cruise we focused on Breast Cancer awarness month in October.
Firstly we spoke to leading oncologist Dr Devan Moodley. He spoke about the different types of breast cancer, signs and the various treatment options. Dr Moodley mentioned that these days breast can be detected in your twenties. Dr Moodley says this is caused by manys reason one of which is due to modern day/westernised culture of living, dieting etc. Dr Moodley encourages all to make a routine of feeling their breast for any irregular occurances. The sooner the cancer is detected the better.

Lastly we were joined by breast cancer survivor Thea Marais. She spoke about her experience, treatment and medical aid cover options. Thea Marais encourages all to review their medical aid and make sure that’ll see to unforeseen events etc. For Thea her parents at time helped her out financially even after having medical aid.
