The Commission for Gender Equality (CGE) had a launch of its report on the police stations’ readiness to deal with gender -based violence (GBV).
The morning cruise show had an interesting talk with the Commission Of Gender Equality Spokesperson Jabu Baloyi, who made us touch bases on what the findings were and a remembrance on what is gender equality and what does this commission stand for in South Africa.
There were alot of lack of skills, poor working conditions and alot of criminal activity within the South African Police Service (the police staff), Police have no interpersonal skills they do not know how to write out reports,it is all a mess.
Many people have lost their lives due to Gender Based Violence, It is 2022 and we are still crying about gender based violence!!.. How many community centers, adverts, marches and must be there to teach people that GBV is wrong ? The way things are going it is sad and how gbv has become a norm is very scary.
With sensitive cases such as GBV I really believe that it is not only the police work alone, us as people we need to learn how to treat each other well. We really need to change our ways as people.
