Farhaanah Haque from Hannah consults

 The Morning Cruise show was joined by Farhaanah Haque, a young entrepreneur who started a business called Hannah consults, which specializes in building CV’s and writing cover letters for clients. A business which is not highlighted enough considering the unemployment rate in South Africa. Let’s take a look what was said in the interview.

Due to her consciousness when gathering experience in the work f orce, her time on a leadership program called Landmark as well as the pressure of Covid during the time, Farhaanah saw a gap in the market and an opportunity to lend a hand to the suffering economy of South Africa and did so by starting Hannah Consults in May 2021. When the business first kicked off , Farhaanah said “ I personally felt my prices were too high which then made me drop the prices”  - This is when she really started  to gain clientele and realized how she could  help employees and potential employees in Cape Town and the rest of  South Africa if possible.

 

When asked what the main issue with CV  writing is, Farhaanah replied by saying “ There are so many do’s and don’ts that people are not aware of or even if they are aware , they do not comply with it” and from what I gathered , grammar errors , spacing ,  unnecessary information and lack of information  seems  to be the bulk issues people  have when writing or building a  CV. Farhaanah stressed the  fact that  a CV is your first  impression to a potential employer and as we all know “ first impressions last”.

This young entrepreneur hopes  to impact the unemployment rate and the  misconceptions by continuing to sharpen her skills as a  CV writer and by sticking to what she believes in.
