From Botswana, dedicated artist, songwriter, musician and producer Sal Angel (Poloko Bagai) continues to grow his fanbase and make a name for himself with the melodic sounds and emotional lyricism he presents in his music especially in his new song, “It’s Sad I Won’t Lie”.
Sal, short
for ‘Salvation’ is the English translation of his first name Poloko along with
Angel. At a very early age, Sal has always had a natural love for music,
starting out, he noticed his flaws when it came to production and hitting
notes, but he continued to find ways to improve. “I wasn’t really good at it…” Sal mentioned in the interview on The
Morning Cruise, “I was just doing my own
thing, just doing whatever and what not you know? And at some point I started
getting like, really good and everything and I was like “Wow ok I’m improving” and
I just kept getting good at it…”
While
making music Sal mentioned that, his mother never really took his dream to
become a musician seriously, thinking that it was more of a hobby to him,
though he never let this discourage him from making music, and despite his
passion for music, he continued to do well in school. “My mom really didn’t like, see me as like
serious about the whole thing… She thought I was just having fun with it, it
was just like a hobby or something like that you know. But she didn’t really
like, take me seriously, and I kept pushing, I kept pushing in school as well because
I knew that at some point you have to
have like, something you can fall back on…”
Sal’s plans
for the year is to possibly release some more music and a possible EP. Sal
continues to master his craft and spread his music across the world. There is a
lot of promise for the Botswana artist, the more he continues to dedicate his
energy into his music and with songs “Its Sad I Won’t Lie” there is no doubt
that Sal Angel will become a household name.
