This Tuesday we wecolmed a vibrant group of dancers; Chesney Stanfield, Botilale Selodie, Milisa Mathiso, Zochary Petersen Masixsle Maicheta and marketing director Luganda Mtamzeli in our studio. Their energy and enthusiasm were palpable as they engaged with the innovative choreography of JazzArt Dance Theatre.
production, JOMBA! Resilience, captures the essence of South Africa’s dynamic journey over the past 30 years. With their dances they want to make people feel and understand the emotion that comes with it.
The program is a powerful tribute to resilience, a theme that resonates deeply with the nation's ongoing narrative of overcoming challenges and celebrating triumphs. I am African, choreographed by Sifiso Kweyama, JazzArt's Head of Training, reflects the interconnectedness of South Africa's diverse population, embodying the strength found in unity. Battlefield, created by ex-JazzArt Company Dancer Lihle Mfene, explores the struggle to break free from societal constraints and embrace one's authentic self in a world full of expectations.
There is more ahead for the JazzArt Dance Theatre, they are even going to Pakistan to dance overthere and show people their skills. They all have big dreams and like they said, keep it moving! Everything is possible.
