Telephonic Interview with BabyMac

Telephonic Interview with BabyMac.

Hip- hop sensation BabyMac hits Milestone with hit “Thetha”. BabyMac, born and bred in Johannesburg and his parents are from Eastern Cape, is currently still living in Johannesburg. He says that Johannesburg life is fast paced and while we were listening to his new song “Thetha”, we could not help but to groove and enjoy the track.

BabyMac being influenced by well-known, amazing artist such as Michael Jackson, Beethoven etc. He feels like with most people such influences are noticed by our parents, while listening to music as a young child, played by his parents.  He does not just make Hip-hop songs; he has made Afro-beat and RnB songs, and however his first love was Hip-hop. He believes in being original and not being someone that he is not.

Since he loves music, he initially learnt how to play the drums, being in studio, with other people, he learnt how to play the guitar and he started teaching himself how to play the piano, just after High School.  He worked with late legends AKA and Riky Rick and also worked with DA L.E.S, he says that it was a learning experience. He spent a lot of time with going to shows with Kiernan (AKA) and he says that Riky Rick was more like an older brother; he was always there for him. Working with them helped him navigate where he is now in his career; they were always there to guide him. He recorded his first EP at the age of 13, and what made him do that is that he started working on his music at a very young age and the fact that he is always in the studio.  He says that his name BabyMac comes from being the youngest of three boys and says that with future work we can keep an eye on him on his social media.
