Sadboy SynC
SadBoy SynC (Viwe Fawuli) is an up and coming singer, songwriter and producer from Cape Town Khayelitsha. Born in the Eastern Cape King Williams Town, he moved to Cape Town at the age of 19. In 2020 after graduating Matric, he moved to Cape Town to attend University and pursue his dream in music.
SadBoy started writing music back in 2017 at the age of 16 but it was only until 2020 that he released his first single, ‘Lost Soul’ inspired by his first heartbreak. Since the release of his first of ‘Lost Soul’, he gained the confidence to work hard and chase his dream. Sadboy SynC brings versatility to the world of music, bringing back the vibe of early 2000’s Rock but also mixing it up with a bit of Hip-Hop, based on a new genre called Emo-Rap, the layers of instruments and atmosphere of the genre can be heard in his latest track Ghost Girl.
Viwe said
in an interview with the Morning Cruise on Bush Radio 89.5 FM, that his parents
especially his mother fully supported his decision to pursue his dream of
becoming a musician. When asked if his family and those close to him were
supportive of him, he said, “My Family is
very supportive…” He added. “They’ve always been supportive of me, from the
get-go. Because I told my mom, back in 2017 before I started (Making music), I
was like, I want to be a rapper, I want to make music and she was like, “If
you’re sure that’s what you want to do and you love what you want to do, then
go for it, the world is yours”. Yeah and I’ve been following those words ever
since.”
Even though
Sadboy is only 21 years old, his talent really speaks volumes, he is dedicated
to his craft and making a name for himself in the music industry. There is no
doubt that Africa has another great artist that will eventually work with local
favourites and eventually internationally.
