Matshepo’s Venture App
Morning cruise was graced by the amazing Matshepho all the way from Johannesburg to share with us more about the app that she created. Matshepo’s Venture is a FREE app that enables women entrepreneurs to gain business skills and connections to transform their businesses. Through bite-sized easily digestible swipe- ablecards, quizzes, and videos, Her Venture provides a learning experience accessible to ALL women.
Through
interviews across the country, the Cherie Blair Foundation alongside its
partners aims to reach 3500 women before the end of 2022. Supporting the growth
of women-owned enterprises provides South Africa with the opportunity to
generate sustainable economic livelihoods, reduce poverty and grow the economy.
She shared
with us via telephone that the app is brought to the uses being women
entrepreneurs. It is an award winning app and is now available in south Africa and
teaches you how to launch and start a business in a fun and flexible way. The
app was designed to fit into a busy women’s schedule.
Some of the
challenges faced was that they app was created din a gender specific lens and
they looked at the opportunity about how women learn. The main aim was to
design an app so that when the user downloads it they can use it offline so they
would not need data for it. The main goal regarding reaching 3500 women has
been steady with 1500 already joining.
Matshepo mentioned that the app was available on google play stores and also apple stores and once downloaded, it be used immediately offline. Another great feature is that you can personalise your profile on the app and make more accessible so that other like- minded women can get in touch with one another.
In terms of the future, Matshepo mentioned that another app is definitely on the horizon for them and they will delivering a micro learning app in future as well as a “Warlmart grow your biz” programme in Michelle’s plain and khayalitsha. She urges for anyone to follow them on social media at GibsAcademy and www.gibs.co.za, to join and be a part of what she has planned for the future.
