We had a lot of fun with our guests today from Family First.
The whole crew came to talk with us on the Morning Cruise about their music and
future plans. The guys have known each other from a young age when they grew up
playing soccer together in the street. Now each of them has their own role in
their group called Family First.
Shayela Khalombo, otherwise known as Yung Addict, is the
founder of the group and one of the lyricists. Also on the mic is Zwelakhe
Sokanyile, also known as MK Rowdy. Zenande Landfirst Nkomana acts as the
manager while Lerato Nkala produces for the group. And last but not least, all
of the film and photography for Family First can be credited to Siya Nkala.
Their group name comes from their respect for the importance
of family. With mixed support from their own families at home, our crew of
guests consider themselves their own family. They support and push each other
forward, which keeps them inspired to keep writing and producing their music.
All from Summer Greens, Family First has already produced a
few tracks and have more on the way. Yung addict is dropping his new EP on 26
August. In the meantime, the group is planning an event for 7 October 2017
where they hope to book a parking lot for their venue.
