Danny Dilliberto

DANNY DILLIBERTO

As national sandwich day approaches, we spoke to the energetic Danny Dilliberto about his non-profit organisation called “Ladles of Love”, and about their plans that they have set for the upcoming day.

Danny, who is the founder and director of the organisation shared with our Morning Cruise presenter Mkhuseli Veto (Khusi) the plans he has for Thursday the 3rd of November 2022. Ladles of Love has launched its annual “Sarmiethon” Challenge aiming to provide 100, 000 sandwiches to children needing food relief on World Sandwich Day.

The name “Ladles of Love”, comes from a friend who mentioned it to him a few years ago as they initially ran a soup kitchen and the spoon(ladle) was always used to dish the soup with love. Danny Diliberto says: “I wishes you could see the joy sandwiches bring to hungry people, especially the little ones. Their eyes light up with the first bite and as it hits the hunger spot, smiles spread across their faces, and they sigh relief”. Danny and his team invites any South African corporates and citizens to get behind this amazing cause by sponsoring the making of 100 000 sandwiches.

Mr Dilliberto also shared that when you give and not wanting in return is not negotiable, you always receive in return. Danny also highlighted that homelessness is not the problem, but rather it’s the result of our societal problem.

Danny believes that people need to accept that homelessness is always going to around and this year will be the 3rd year that the “Sarmiethon” is taking place trying to help each and every person in need. It will be taking place in Gauteng and Cape Town.

If you would like to help then feel free to lend a hand, just go to https://ladlesoflove.org.za/ and buy as many sandwiches as you can! You can also go to their online store as well for additional information or email Yolanda info@ladlesoflove.org.za
