From Eastern Cape to the Runway: How Iyambesa Sizani is Modeling More Than Just Fashion

This week on The Morning Cruise with Bush Radio 89.5 FM, we were honoured to welcome a rising star in the modeling world — Iyambesa Sizani, a young woman whose journey from the Eastern Cape to Cape Town is full of determination, courage, and purpose.

Iyambesa joined us in studio to share how she transformed a childhood dream into a real path toward professional modeling. Now a brand ambassador for Mark C Clothing Wear, she is also training for the Face of Inspiration Pageant, coming up this October 2025. Her story is more than one of beauty — it’s about boldness, self-love, and lifting others along the way.

From Rural Roots to Runway Dreams

Iyambesa grew up in a small town in the Eastern Cape, where resources were limited but dreams were big. “Even as a little girl, I was already posing in front of the mirror,” she told us, laughing. But the road from playful dreams to pageant training in Cape Town was far from easy. Leaving home wasn’t just a move — it was a leap of faith.

“When I first arrived, I felt both scared and excited,” she shared. “The city was so different. I had to learn fast — how to adapt, how to carry myself, and most importantly, how to believe that I belonged.”

Fashion, Family, and Finding Her Voice

A turning point came when Iyambesa crossed paths with Mark C Clothing Wear, a proudly local brand that champions diversity and authenticity. She quickly became a brand ambassador, not just for the clothing, but for the values it stands for: resilience, identity, and creative freedom.

“The best part of being a brand ambassador is that I get to represent something that feels real to me,” she said. “I wear clothes that tell stories — just like I do.”

Her mentor, Bismark Chinyavanhu, has been instrumental in her growth. “He saw something in me before I fully saw it in myself,” she said. With his guidance, Iyambesa is not just learning how to model — she’s learning how to lead.

Pageants, Preparation, and Purpose

Right now, Iyambesa is preparing for the Face of Inspiration Pageant, and her daily life is full of castings, workouts, affirmations, and community projects. “It’s about inner strength as much as outer presence,” she explained. “Modeling has taught me confidence, but more than that — it’s taught me to love myself for who I am.”

She hopes her story inspires other young people from rural areas to believe that their background does not limit their future. “You don’t need to be born in a big city to dream big. You just need to believe, and find people who will believe with you.”

Modeling Change — Not Just Clothes

Iyambesa’s long-term vision goes far beyond runways and pageants. “I want to open doors for others,” she said. Whether through workshops, mentoring, or one day starting her own agency, she’s committed to creating space for young models from overlooked places.

“In five years, I see myself still modeling — but also helping others do it too. I want to be someone who builds bridges.”
